We started building pluginmaker a year ago.
What we've learned since then is that the best plugins never came from one prompt. They came from people who really know music production, know exactly what they want, and keep coming back to it, version after version, until it's right. AI didn't replace any of that. It made every round faster, and it let people try ideas that used to need a whole dev team.
There's no point pretending AI isn't a huge part of making software now. Anyone can vibe-code a simple plugin these days. But making professional music tools that people will actually pay for still takes a lot of work from experienced engineers.
And even a great plugin is only the start. Then it needs an installer, a licensing system, someone watching for problems, fixes when something breaks, and someone answering your customers. That's why we started The Plugin Studio. We take care of all of that, so you can focus on building the best tool you can for the best thing in the world: making music.
